Commanders stay on the right path after trading for Deebo Samuel
Jayden Daniels, you have yourself another solid weapon.
The San Francisco 49ers have traded star wide receiver Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders for a fifth-round pick. It was recently made known to the NFL world that the 49ers were considering both Deebo Samuel and Brand Aiyuk for trade. One of the dominos has fallen.
Deebo is coming off a solid year, facing some criticism at times as he started to have problems with catching the ball towards the end of the year. He finished with 3 touchdowns and 670 yards in 14 games. Not the most impressive numbers we are used to seeing out of Deebo Samuel. You can’t deny he is a stud receiver in the receiving and rushing game though. What better team to show that off with right now than the Washington Commanders? Hint: there are none.
The commanders will end up paying for Deebo’s final year of his contract being $17.5 million. This is not bad at all for the Commanders. Their front office is clearly at work and doing it very well.
Speaking of very well, the Commanders did just that and more this past season. Reaching the NFC Championship and showing other teams that they are young and hungry. Terry Mclaruin is coming off one of his best seasons in his career and Jayden Daniels is your reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year. The state of the Commanders is at an all time high and acquiring Deebo Sameul seems to make this offense unstoppable. Don’t be surprised at all if you see them right back in the NFC Championship game, and possibly one game further.
